Lincoln / Doodle Paint

I'm home sick again today, but at least I have enough energy to paint. 

So, I listened to an audiobook called: 1861  by Adam Goodheart,

 and I tried to salvage my another one of my Lincoln pieces. 

I made the rather large mistake of starting this large painting without having any idea of where I wanted it to go.  I have already sanded this down and put a few thin layers of gray on top a failing painting underneath. I'm not totally sure where its going. I just know it needs to go somewhere.

I feel like I spent an awful long time putting in a ton of detail work, and I feel like it barely makes a difference.  Oh well. At least its still a mystery and something to discover.

I am just so impressed with the printing job I get from Zazzle. After receiving a fantastic coupon I ordered a few more postcards for Day of the Dead- and whatnot. Im so delighted that I just HAD TO SHARE them here. Makes me want to travel more, just so I can send postcards to friends and loved ones! Orbitz often has promotions and savings

With the PINK Lincoln its obvious where I'm going. With the others, I still have no idea. (I guess that's half the fun?)

Here are a few faces of some of my current work. Most of these paintings are at least half way finished. After so many paintings of animals in profile, I thought it would be nice to make a post where every subject has 2 eyes.




I gotta tell ya, all this Lincoln Painting has me yearning to re-read "Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Slayer,"which I totally recommend, by the by. I can imagine many more mono-cromatic Lincolns after I rock that book again. Find books on Abraham Lincoln at Barnes & Noble, and possibly save with this code
