Faces (of a few paintings In Progress)

Here are a few faces of some of my current work. Most of these paintings are at least half way finished. After so many paintings of animals in profile, I thought it would be nice to make a post where every subject has 2 eyes.




I gotta tell ya, all this Lincoln Painting has me yearning to re-read "Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Slayer,"which I totally recommend, by the by. I can imagine many more mono-cromatic Lincolns after I rock that book again. Find books on Abraham Lincoln at Barnes & Noble, and possibly save with this code

A few 'In Progress' Paintings

These are probably half of the paintings I have in progress. As you can see: Narwhals, Giraffes, and Lincoln are my obsession of the moment. Most of these paintings are a ways from being finished, but I wanted to show you some of whats to come.

2 headed giraffe and an (in progress) monster doodle.

My last post promised that I was getting back into the swing of things artistically. This post I wanted to post some proof. Above is the (maybe) complete sketch of my 2 headed giraffe. Hopefully more sketches or oil paintings on the subject will follow.

Below is the beginnings of a new project. Some of you might remember my Sharpie Monster Doodles- most were on 5x8 or 11x14 paper. I am now shooting to make a few large Monster Doodles. Im thinking at least small child sized. Im kicking around the idea of them having moving parts... I dont know, but we'll see. Im excited to find out where this takes me.

Anyway, I have several projects piled up that need my attention (new and old) and I hope to be filling this blog with many dino, kangaroo, and monster paintings and creations!

I'm thinking "Lanky Lavender"? or maybe "Mulberry Mammalian Madge"?

Honestly, I'm better at painting them than naming them. She isnt dry to the touch yet, so please forgive the quality of the pics. Below are pics from Start to finish of this unnamed amethyst Giraffe.

I was thinking I'd send a RHINO DOODLEs, a PAINTING CALENDAR, or maybe a colorful sketch of their suggestion. I am happy to send this art to anywhere in the world, so this little competition is open to anyone/anywhere. Back Story: I started to post a smattering of work I've completed in the last year when I realized: "Holy-Moley I painted a ton of birds in 2010!" New 2011 Goal: I will finish the Bird paintings I have started, and I shall start NO MORE. Of course, Ive started a few other paintings but im really looking for new direction and I'd really love to hear a few suggestions.

Hoorah for Sunday.....Sunday is Painting day....

A Giraffe, a hummingbird, and a Dino. These are a few items Ive been working on throughout today. Having the first real day off Ive had in a while (no road trips, no feeling awful, no massive amount of errands to run) Ive been trying to catch up on a few paintings.

OTHER paintings Ive been working on today that are not pictured, but should be coming soon (should i ever finish them) include 2 other bird paintings, another stegosaurus painting, and "Charlie & Rex" - my dino/unicorn love sympathy that will probably never be complete. Also of note: this is an awful pic of my dino. However so much of the canvas was wet (and REFLECTIVE) that a decent pic couldn't be taken by my unskilled hands.
