love notes, Sharpie Doodle Monsters

Here are some recent Sharpie Monster Doodles. This new batch of my lovely ickys seem a bit more whimsy than usual. Almost like they are dancing.

These are much smaller than the one in the last post. 5.5 x 8inches I think.

for more information on these wonderful creatures, please check my ETSY site.

Big Mamma Jamma Sharpie Doodle Monster in Progress

Well, I've been working on her for a while now. Im up to about 3 feet of Sharpie Doodle. All those tiny details take a while. Looking at these pics Im not sure any more if Ive even finished the original drawing- not to mention what I want to put on top of her. I think parts of this need to be 3-D, so it literally pops up at you.

I drained two Sharpies dry making this momma. When was the last time you can remember finishing a Sharpie? Never is my guess. FEEL FREE to click on the pics to see tons of detail!

Ive been in a doodling frenzy so I'll have smaller monster doodles and more on this Mamma Jamma soon, Im sure.

2 headed giraffe and an (in progress) monster doodle.

My last post promised that I was getting back into the swing of things artistically. This post I wanted to post some proof. Above is the (maybe) complete sketch of my 2 headed giraffe. Hopefully more sketches or oil paintings on the subject will follow.

Below is the beginnings of a new project. Some of you might remember my Sharpie Monster Doodles- most were on 5x8 or 11x14 paper. I am now shooting to make a few large Monster Doodles. Im thinking at least small child sized. Im kicking around the idea of them having moving parts... I dont know, but we'll see. Im excited to find out where this takes me.

(she is always so judgmental of my work...)

Anyway, I have several projects piled up that need my attention (new and old) and I hope to be filling this blog with many dino, kangaroo, and monster paintings and creations!

I finished my first monster painting...

mmm... So I think I finished my first (doodle)monster painting. Its itty bitty. 5x5inches. It has an unfinished sister painting that should be finished in about 6 weeks, so check back for that one. That one is a bit larger and Im probably gonna be able to do more with it.

I dont really know where Im going with these, but that's pretty exciting right now. Im really motivated to continue these and see where and what they evolve to. I posted pics of the process below.

My first monster doodle. I do love to add tentacles.

I think I had a purple canvas already painted and ready for a subject...

The eyes still needed a bit more...

It seems finished, but im not sure if it FEELS finished. we'll see.

PS- Thank you , Amanda Burns, for the monster idea.

What Im painting now...

This is my favorite of the FOUR dino paintings Im sorta kinda working on now.

I actually just took stock of the canvases Im trying to complete. I stopped counting at 18. This is the list:

4 DINOS ( one involving the love for a unicorn)
4 Monster Doodles
1 Anatomical heart ache painting inspired by the poetry of Gregory Sherl (but not in the way that those who might have read Sherl wil be thinking "anatomical")
4 birds (one humming, one with inspirational life message)
1 giraffe
2 colorful I-dont-know-whats-its
2 canvases pastel primer-ed w/o subject

thats 18 (and theres always the this and that ive been meaning to finish but havent touched in 6 months)! AND im about to start a marsupial commission.

Hopefully a few of these will be completed and up soon.

This way up.

Latest Monster Doodle.

I was thinking a Buffalo-Tentacle-Face type of sharpie monster doodle- all creaptastic and wonderful... and I was about to sign my work (which is always the last thing I do to a piece) when I flipped the sketch book....

And now its more of a: Yorkiepuppy that was bit by a Octo-zombie-monster doodle. (I know you can see it.)

Anyways I love them both, I just cant decide which to love more.
